OPEN Ph.D POSITION AT THE DEPARTMENT OF IMMUNOLOGY

The Faculty of Medicine is one of the four founding faculties of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. With its non-clinical facilities as well as its research and teaching area corresponding to the organisational units of the University Hospital, it is one of the largest medical training and research institutions in Baden-Württemberg.
The Department of Immunology at the University of Tübingen (Head: Professor H.-G. Rammensee) is seeking a Ph.D student in tumor immunology.
The major focus of the Department of Immunology of the Faculty of Medicine in Tübingen is translational immunology; its spectrum of research covers T cell and antibody biology, antigen presentation, and innate immunity. The new findings that emerge from these research projects are translated into clinical applications that are carried out in close collaboration with partner teams from the University Hospital Tübingen or outside.
Project: the project is part of a collaborative research center based in Cologne (SFB 1399 “mechanisms of drug sensitivity and resistance in small cell lung carcinoma”) and will be carried out at the Immune Monitoring group (Prof. C. Gouttefangeas) in Tübingen in closed collaboration with the SFB1399 colleagues. The SFB1399 is a unique consortium dedicated to basic and translational research on small cell lung carcinoma, a highly lethal cancer for which effective therapeutic options are still lacking.
You will be in charge of dissecting the human immunopeptidome landscape of SCLC using mass spectrometry and of performing T cell immune assays to validate the findings. In addition, you will be responsible for the coordination and communication with the SFB1399 collaborators.

Position: the position (TV-L, E13 65%) is open for 4 years from July 2023 on for candidates with a Master degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular medicine or related, and with a strong background in immunology. Experience with T cell culture, multi-parameter flow-cytometry and/or mass spectrometry is a plus.
We offer remuneration in accordance with TV-L (collective wage agreement for the Public Service of the German Federal States), severely handicapped persons with equal qualifications are given preferential consideration.
